In a few dates...

TITANIUMSOUND was founded in 2005 by Dr Frédéric Bousquet, under the original name of Structures Sonores Atelier Bousquet.

Dr Frédéric Bousquet has a triple background in music (percussion prize from the Toulouse Conservatoire), science (Master's degree in Aeronautical Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bordeaux 1 & Doctoral thesis in Aesthetics, Science and Technology of the Arts from the University of Paris 8) and technology, having been trained in sound sculpture by Bernard Baschet (1917-2015) and François Baschet (1920-2014). As such, he is the designer of the latest generation of Baschet crystals from 1997 to 2012 and the repository of their know-how.

TITANIUMSOUND reveals the historiography of euphone. It specialises in the design and manufacture of a range of euphones, notably extending the tessitura, sound homogeneity, timbral quality and repertoire. Acoustic research led to the production of melodic percussion instruments in stainless steel, the Ludophones™ (kalimbas, musical metal harps), then in titanium.

The sound design activity takes place in the INVENTOR recording STUDIO next door to the workshop. National and international composers and sound designers commission unique sound databases, the result of acoustic sound synthesis.

Euphoniste et compositeur, Maître artisan en Métier d'art, auteur et pédagogue

 

En 1997, Dr. Frédéric BOUSQUET décide de transférer les technologies et matériaux de l’industrie aéronautique pour la production de générateurs de sons. Il conçoit en 2018 le premier instrument de musique entièrement réalisé en titane aéronautique. Explorateur du monde sonore, maître artisan en facture instrumentale contemporaine, auteur, compositeur, spécialiste mondial de l’euphone, pionnier des musiques mixtes numériques, il est régulièrement invité par des scènes nationales et internationales festivals prestigieux. Il est régulièrement invité par des Fondations, Instituts et Universités internationales pour ses travaux relatifs aux pratiques en pédagogie musicale, au patrimoine sonore et aux lutheries expérimentales.

Il reçoit une triple formation musicale (Prix du conservatoire de Toulouse en percussion), scientifique (Doctorat en Esthétique Science et Technologie des Arts, Université Paris 8 - maîtrise en conception mécanique, Techniques Aéronautiques, Université de Bordeaux 1) et technique (sculpture sonore, François et Bernard Baschet). Inventeur (Soundwall®, Ludophones®), synthésiste acoustique, producteur (Jacques Higelin, Ensemble Hope, Ensemble Stolon & INVENTŎR, World Euphone Consort), Designer (cristal Baschet & Titanium Euphone), Maître artisan en Métiers d’Art, musicologue, compositeur et musicien, C. E. O. de TitaniumSound® (premier instrument de musique au monde en titane en 2010). En tant que musicologue, son domaine de recherche est celui de l’Ecologie sonore et de la pédagogie sonore.
